Day 11 (fail) & 12

Day 11: Thursday
morning: smoothie
afternoon: cucumber/carrot/apple/lemon juice, pumpkin "chips" (bought from whole foods)
evening: salad, rest of juice, then some Chinese food and fritos ;(

Fail again. So my failure days are whenever I am over a friends house. I am totally fine when im home. Im never exposed to sad food because my family and their kitchen is upstairs while my kitchen and bedroom is downstairs. This makes it way easier. However I know I need to stop feeling guilty about it. I am still being way healthier and pretty high raw - only sucking once a week at dinner time.

Day 12: Friday
afternoon: cucumber/carrot/kiwi/scallion/celery/lemon juice
evening: asparagus, salad with raw cheddar cheese, coconut balls, grapefruit

The juice combo was umm interesting. I dont really recommend lol. But its what I had in the house and decided to mix it up some. But today was easy because I was focused on work. So much easier. I was at my externship all day and after working the attorneys and I went to the pub for some beer and appetizers. I had water, and more water. Later one of the attorneys was like I feel bad, you did all this work and we couldnt even get you beer. Hes like lets get you some cheese! Around the corner is this really amazing cheese shop and he was sure they would have raw cheese. They did! It was very considerate of him. It sure was delicious - black diamond cheddar cheese. yummm. Just adding cheese to a salad makes it taste kinda "meaty"

I found this pecan smoothie recipe the other day and finally had time to make it. SO DELISH.

Day 8 - Monday

morning: grapefruit
afternoon: salad, carrot/apple/cucumber/lemon juice
evening: zucchini pasta
snacks: coconut cookies, almond/maple balls
cravings: panini sandwiches - mostly because of the melted cheese inside

Its been going really good. Im feeling good. More energized and happier.

Back in September, Meredith and Dustin drove Mindy and I down to get colonics. We went here: www.greenwichcolonhydrotherapy.com. It was a great experience. Kelly McCoy was amazing. I wish I could get one done every month. But anyways we made a video of the experience:

I definitely recommend this for all. DO IT.

Day 7

morning
: grapefruit
afternoon: mixed salad with olive oil for dressing
evening: zucchini pasta with "alfredo sauce"
snacks: orange, almonds
dessert: almond cookie thingie
cravings: coooooooooookies

Oh man have I been craving cookies for some reason. I dont even normally like cookies. So I made myself a dessert with stuff I had and like. I put a handful of almonds in food processor, added a spoonful of coconut butter and maple syrup. Mixed it up. yum.

Day 6

afternoon: grapefruit, almonds, blueberries

evening: grapes, "spaghetti" = zucchini with oilves, tomatoes and mushrooms with watered nut cheese to make alfredo style sauce

snack: juice (cucumber, apple, carrot, lemon and celery)

I am starting to get more energy. I am also feeling less hungry, not needing to stuff my face. I think my body is like ahh real food and nutrients. Its actually weird because normally when im stressed (which at the moment I am) I eat tons, but right now im actually forgetting to eat.

day 4 (fail) and day 5

Day Four:
morning: grapefruit
afternoon: green smoothie, coconut cookies
evening: salad with olive oil, green juice (the one from earlier), but then 2 small slices of pizza (not raw)

I was so good until last night. I stayed over my friend Jill's house that night. I even filled up with stuff: came with a salad, juices and so on. She ordered pizza but I couldnt help myself. So damn weak. It has eggplant on it. I love freaking eggplant.

Im not going to get too angry with myself - although I feel a bit guilty. but I remember my first time around the third or fourth day I also had a fail.

Day Five:
afternoon: green juice - cucumber, apple, lemon; almonds; grapefruit
evening: onion bread with nut cheese and salad

i really wish i had a personal chef right now. no time to make anything more substantial at the moment.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Day 3

afternoon: grapefruit, cherries
evening: 2 onion breads with nut cheese and cherry tomatoes, peppers, and olives for toppings
snack: some green juice! (cucumber, apple, lemon, celery, carrot), blueberries

So the past two days I have had a pretty hectic schedule and havent had the time to think about what Im eating and feeling. Today Im at home working on motions all day and had a wtf moment. I had no idea what to make for dinner lol. This is the worst part about being raw. The planning. Sucks!

I couldnt sleep at all last night. My mind was going a million miles an hour. I remember when I initially went raw that my sleeping patterns changed a bit.

I did feel a little weak earlier tonight but that was due to the fact that I was obsessively writing and not eating anything. My body is probably going into a shock from all the healthy stuff im putting in as recently it was nothing but junk.

Day 2

morning: grapes
afternoon: green berry smoothie, coconut "cookies" by go raw
evening: half a stuffed pepper, asparagus, walnuts

Monday, January 24, 2011

Back at it again: Day 1

So its been ages since I made a post.

For awhile I continued on the raw path. But towards the end of October I started incorporating some cooked foods and then come thanksgiving time it went down hill. I made excuses: oh its my birthday, oh im on vacation, oh its christmas, oh im on vacation again in another country - "so i can treat myself." An additional 10 pounds later, here I am.

I came back last week from Guatemala and the first thing I did was start making rejuvelac. After that I made nut cheese and onion bread. Today I start all over again my raw venture. My body needs it and my mind needs it. I remember how it made me feel and its definitely long overdue. No more dabbling in foods I know make me feel like shit. Its on.

morning: grapefruit, cherries
afternoon: green banana berry smoothie
dinner: half a stuffed red pepper with nut cheese and mushrooms, asparagus, walnuts

my smoothie has evolved into quiet a bit of ingredients in it besides the two huge handfuls of spinach, a banana and mixed berries. I also add the superfood berry powder, a scoop of maca powder, scoop of flax seeds, msm, scoop of spirulina and probiotics. I used rejuvelac instead of water and honey to sweeten.
